Some images taken by Erol Gurian and good friend and fellow photographer. The exhibition was held at the Munich Public Library also known as Gasteig. The exhibition was set-up by Mercedes Nemeth from Europa Direkt. The exhibition was also funded by the city council along with one of my customers SchlaU Schule. The idea of the exhibition was to bring more awareness to the school and the fact that there are thousands of young refugees in Munich without schooling.

The concept was created by myself and a representative of the school. The students from the school were also organised and picked by myself which was no easy process. From the initial idea to the final opening day the project took about 4 months. This included the planning, preparation, organisation, photo shoot, printing and setting up and taking down of the exhibition which was carried out mainly by myself with the help of Mercedes Nemeth and various members of the school.

The opening day of the exhibition was well attended by members of the public, participants of the project and staff from the school. I was more than happy with the outcome. The pictures were well publicised and this led to Bayerisher Rundfunk getting in contact with me to film a short documentary about the exhibition which can be found here:
In addition Mohr Villa a culture centre based in Freimann in Munich also contacted me regarding setting up the same exhibition in the North of Munich to tie in with their week against racism.
