The Purbeck Fishing company allowed me to join them on one of their fishing trips to catch local lobster. Fortunately the sea was extremely calm since I do tend to suffer from seasickness. We started at 6am from Poole harbour and head off towards Old Harry Rocks and then picked up the nets near Swanage and along the Purbeck coastline. The day could not have been more perfect, I was lucky to see dolpins and more then enough lobster and crab and even managed to catch a tan!
I had an array of lenses with me including the trusty zeiss 50mm, but in such a confined space the most essential piece of kit was my wide angle which allowed me to get up close and personal with the fisherman.
Thank you to the Purbeck Fishing company!
Love these images. They capture natural beauty of the scenery and the lobster boat. i enjoy photos that aren’t of perfect subjects. The raw natural beauty of the ocean and land is reflected in the boat and it’s crew.
Really cool pictures! Too bad you didn’t catch a picture of the dolphins.
